8.5 Coming Soon!
180° Solutions always recommends, with few exceptions, for customers to wait a bit
before upgrading to the latest version of ANY software or operating system. In our last
newsletter we announced the release of GoldMine 7.5, with over 200 fixes and enhancements,
It now seems to be a stable and working build worthy of installing.
Front Range has announced that the GoldMine 8.5 is coming soon. In fact,
Front Range has indicated that it is due to release sometime this month. There are a
bunch of new features that will definitely make your productivity increase, and hopefully
your sales.

GoldMine 7.5 Release Stable - Ready To Upgrade?
For those of you interested in upgrading to the latest release GoldMine 7.5, give
our sales staff a call and we can assist you with this process. If you are interested in
a list of the features of GoldMine 7.5, you can find them below.
This version addresses quite a few concerns with the 7.0 release. The primary change is
in the e-mail support capabilities. They have added support for SSL, IMAP, TLS, NTLM, and CRAM-MD5.
This is a significant improvement to the software.
Support for Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 enables integration with the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Also, the Word and Excel links now are optional components of the main GoldMine installation, rather than being installed separately.
Support for Windows Vista as an end-user operating system.
Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
Support for Windows Server 2003 R2, Service Pack 2 (SP2).
Secure SSL connections now are supported in the E-mail Center. To configure an SSL connection, go to Edit > Preferences > E-mail.
The IMAP protocol now is supported in the E-mail Center, providing more security and better interoperability with other e-mail clients. To configure an IMAP e-mail account, go to Edit > Preferences > E-mail.
The E-mail Center now supports integrated Windows authentication using NTLM. With this feature, e-mail access can be set up without entering or updating the password in GoldMine. To configure this option, go to Edit > Preferences > E-Mail.

Going Mobile with GoldMine (Part 2 of 4)
In our last newsletter, we presented a broad overview of the 3 options available:
Companion Link - Sync your contacts, calendar, notes, to-dos, alarms, and more to your phone via a USB connection or Wirelessly over the Internet.
wMobile - Provides FULL contact management features, on ANY web-enabled handheld device, using a LIVE wireless connection.
GoldMine® Mobile - Provides FULL contact management features, on a BlackBerry® device, with online and offline capabilities and INSTANT access to your data residing SECURELY on your phone.
In the issue we will explain Companion Link in more detail. In short, Companion Link is the best solution for clients with basic needs and/or strapped budgets. It works with almost ANY mobile device, BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, and Palm OS devices.
For about $100 (or less) per device, with very little effort in most cases, you can synchronize information to and from your handheld for quick and easy access when you're out and about.
